Your rights are different from a straight flight cancellation when a holiday, or part of one, has been cancelled (there was a long discussion about this on here a few weeks ago and I’m still not entirely clear in my own mind what the situation is). For the sake of one night, though, I think I would just go with the amended booking and claim back the extra hotel night via BA or insurance when you get back. Alternatively, if you wanted a longer holiday you could call BA and ask to be moved to a later flight and pay any extra hotel costs.
