A Manchester-London ticket can be more than the price of a flight atm! Not much help if you’ve got loads of luggage though. When this happened to us, BA paid for a taxi to LHR, at a cost of £300 – which to be fair isn’t far off a first class train ticket!
I did wonder about the Manchester route as LNER doesn’t go to Manchester!
You can buy tickets for other than LNER operated trains including Manchester to London on their website so maybe they fall within the terms of this offer.
