I thought all Y seats to NYC (and some other destinations) were now charged at the RFS fare of 25k avios plus £50 each way?
For me, the best value on this route would be to try and get F on the outbound, NYC is one of the most likely destinations for these seats to appear because of the sheer volume of flights each day. As pointed out above, cash fares are extremely reasonable even in these post-pandemic days, so it makes little sense to use a 241 and avios on this route in the lowest cabins. Obviously you need a certain number of avios to do this.
