Article 29 working group was a loose cooperation forum of European data protection authorities that occasionally issuaed clarifying non-binding guidance on the 1995 EU data protection directive.
Both the directive and Article 29 were superseded in 2018 by the GDPR and the European Data Protection Board respectively.
