Best to have a look at Manage My Booking- that will tell you if you can choose for free. Depends if you have any Exec Club status.
I think it’s something like
Gold – free choice from point of Booking.
Silver – same, apart from exit row seats which only become free 24 hrs before departure.
Bronze – free 7 days before departure
Blue- free 24 hrs before departure.

All short haul Club Euro is only 2 out of the 3 seats in use, so any row should give you some extra space, although depending on the plane type there may be a tray table fitted on the middle seat. You may be able to get it removed by cabin crew if you ask nicely and they are happy to assist.
