I applied for the plat 2 months ago and was approved. Moreover to date:-

-71+ points (supplementary card added)
-£200 Amex Travel credit awarded- not spent yet but will be soon for a either UK hotel break or International Hotel
-£50 pounds HN credit (restock my gin collection)
-£150 International dining credit realised by 2 lovely meals in Brussels
-£150 pounds UK credit will be achieved via a meal and drinks at 20 Stories Manchester when visit for the Ashes cricket next month. Although, there are some “catches” on the dining credit members need to careful to enable the full credit.
-Another £50 pounds of Gin will be purchased from HN next month
-Although im BA Silver I’ve still used the priority pass for 6 visits just to “make a change from galleries”
-2 visits to Plazz at T5
-The travel insurance which I value at around £250 pounds isn’t needed as my family and I have annual trip AXA Chubb insurance through my employer.
-The Fine hotels aren’t really my scene so this benifit isn’t one I’m taking advantage of.
-i don’t plan on any hire car and havnt for years, so I have not used the insurance
-I have been awarded Hilton Gold but still waiting for Marriot application to drop, Apparently this takes 7 weeks.

Overall; for me and my partner who enjoy a busy travel schedule, decent resturants and the occassional G&T think the card works.

If I didn’t have BA status or travel insurance from my employer, the plat card would, IMHO be the best value. As it stands now, it still very good.
