Never not seen middle table in CE, but then I rarely do domestic UK flights.

I usually tuck my Panama hat under it to prevent graunching from the hordes who believe that trolley cases deserve priority in overhead lockers rather than hats, coats and other light portables.

Last month on a CE flight from MXP to LHR I discovered a toddler’s half full anti-leak tippee cup lurking beneath the table. Clearly missed by the cleaning staff.

That, the attitude of the cabin crew member when I asked that it be disposed of, and a few other minor disappointments were a sobering reminder of customer experience of “business class” with BA relative to operators like QR who looked after us supremely well on the rest of our trip to and back from Australia.
