Yes Whilst in theory if they can only offer you the overnight via Madrid or 2 stops via London and there is a comparible trip available on Vueling then they should reimburse you.

But I agree I wouldn’t go down any route where you need to claim anything from IB unless it’s really worth it, they’re notoriously bad at paying out!
