If you don’t see the value in using Deliveroo then you won’t use it, full stop. Go and collect your takeaway yourself (or cook your own meal and save even more). If you do use it, you’re saving £5.
Same with getting groceries delivered via the app.
We have used it a couple of times for emergency grocery deliveries when we couldn’t be bothered to walk down to Little Waitrose (a whole 5 minutes away!). The £5 saving takes it down to the Waitrose price if I walked around in person.
Note that it works fine on Deliveroo pick-ups, where you order groceries in the app and pop in to collect them yourself, hence no delivery fee and £5 of free food.
Note that if you have Amazon Prime you get free elite status with Deliveroo which wipes out some of the fees.
