It’s essentially £150 of value for £195 — but they know nobody spends just £25 in the restaurant, so they’re buying your loyalty at a cheap price. And if you shop at Harrods regularly you probably have a decent card or private bank that renders this useless.

I’d genuinely be interested to hear about the ‘decent card or private bank’ offerings as I don’t think there are any cards out there where you can easily get 3% back. So once you spend £1500 in Harrods, you’re cost neutral and anything above that you’ve getting 3% in addition to your Harrods rewards tier.

It’s a reasonable offering for mid/high Harrods spenders. There are plenty of Black Tier members who spend over £10k per annum, so that’s £450 value for them straight away.

They recently had a double points offer, coupled with this cards would have given you 9% in points, and 10% off their regular rewards weekends. Quite generous when compared with the competition.
