You do not need to join Blue rewards if you open a premier account. Join avios rewards and I am pretty certain this will be a double bonus (cash and Avios).

I opened a Premier account and then switched my account into it. I got both bonuses, first the cash and then 25k avios after 4 months. If you search the forum, others had the same bonuses too.
