To be honest, I wouldn’t worry about it. The chances of you ending up on a Heathrow CS config 777 from Gatwick are very low and looking at which aircraft are operating your flight in the days prior isn’t really going to tell you anything. Equally the seat map isn’t going to predict any change prior to an aircraft being assigned.

However, if you’re interested and want a simple way of telling, look out for G-YMMG to G-YMMU operating Gatwick based services as those are the 3 class Heathrow CS aircraft from which temporary cover would almost always be selected.
