Never having used the Split Fare feature, I looked it up. Seems all you need to provide is a phone number. Obviously the target also needs to accept the split, so the charge of success is low. So what’s the scam here?
Also, if I were Uber, I’d require that the two accounts were verified as geolocated close together before even sending the request.
Request your ride
Tap to open the app and request a ride as you normally would.Please note: you must have the latest version of the app to use the Split Fare feature.
Make the split
Once requested, swipe up from the bottom of your app, tap your selected payment method, then tap Split Fare.
Select your friends
Enter the names or phone numbers of other riders. Everyone you add is sent a notification request to accept your invitation
