Thanks for the update – I upgraded with Flying Club points on the outbound plus a staggering £ 180 pds – then went to select my seat today and they wanted another £ 87 for an PE nearer the front with bulk heads all blocked no doubt like with BA for Gold/Silver cards….Ive not flown VA much recently but found this additional cost a bit off putting just for a seat selection – the return upgrade from Seattle in PE was ridiculous at an additional 55,000 points plus another load of cash too…the base fair in economy D was £ 1200 with these prices if I was booking it myself I would get business via ITA for that ! The fair was booked centrally for me via Corporate Travel. Just thought I d pass on these snippets – Also like BA you dont get the 2 bags allowance on the return (on outbound its PE so you do) Back in the day you’d get the highest allowance if you were in/outbound on different class Tiers – the squeeze continues……oh and if I want to add a bag its £ 65 (rates cheaper if I started the journey in Seattle).
