What are the conflicting reports on this as the only actual information I have seen is what BA has posted on X/Twitter in response to questions and where they have said there is no change to soft landings?

Has more information been released or is it just ongoing speculation on this and other sites?

Nick, who is senior at BA, said in our comments that they were going. There is no mention of them in the FAQ anywhere which tells you what you need to know.

However I suspect this is from April 2026. You WILL get one on 1st April 2025.

My gold expires end of July this year, so still anticipating a soft landing until end of April 2026 (already 3m shorter than expected). Fingers crossed the end of April 2025 isn’t the last date a soft landing will be granted as due the alignment of years, I’ll be hoping for one 3 months later in the summer. It has to be the very minimum and hopefully by then the dust will have settled and everyone will have a better understanding of how the new scheme works (Amex etc.) and more importantly an idea of the alternatives.

For those saying it’s logical SL’s go, of course BA can do as they wish, and it will reduce numbers – but they were no more or less fair/unfair under the old system vs. the new.

As I posted on the main article, I was told this by the BA Twitter team after a few days: “To confirm, we haven’t made any changes to our ‘soft landing’ proposition. We hope this helps to put your mind at ease a little”. Now we can argue about legal rights and I clearly won’t be taking BA to court over this, but there is very little ambiguity in that statement and I’d like to think BA keep their word for SL’s in 2025.
