@NorthernLass I’d de-risk myself by sitting in the aisle seat of row 1; at least only have to worry about those behind and to each side. Though by the time you’ve paid for that and priority boarding, often the difference in price to a full service carrier in J isn’t huge.

When MAN was my home airport, I found LH Group could get me wherever I wanted in a weekend, with a connection in ZRH/FRA/MUC, for £350ish in J. I was disappointed to see equivalent pricing ex-LHR steadily above £500.
