And when you change your FFP back to a non-status one just before the gate, you’ll then lose the priority boarding by default.

At least with Star Alliance I can usually get round this by showing the physical Gold card, so maybe with OW showing the digital card in the RJ app might do the trick, but I haven’t yet tried it.
