So I recently joined Barclays Premier with Avios rewards linked to my BAEC account. A few days ago we upgraded my wife’s account to Premier and tried to register for Avios rewards but were never able to login to her BAEC account after being redirected to the BA site, even though she could login to her account in a different browser tab. We even spoke with Barclays who weren’t really able to help.
After the umpteenth attempt I thought I would see what would happen if I put my BA details in and surprisingly it went through and her Premier Avios reward account is now linked to my BAEC account.
I have read in a previous topic that you couldn’t link 2 BAPP accounts to a single BAEC account and thought this would be the same for Barclays so am surprised this went through successfully.
I don’t really think it’s a problem as long as they credit the Avios from both reward accounts to my BAEC but just wondered if anyone has come across this scenario before?
If there’s no snag I think it would work in our favour as I guess we would end up with 2 upgrade vouchers in a single BAEC account after 12 months allowing us to book 2 upgrade tickets in the same booking?
I think the poibts will arrive fine but upgrade voucher may cause troubke as the name on voucher may not be same as on BAEC account. Not sure voucher has a separate name and how it shows in BAEC account. just a thought to consider
