Hi, just wondered how long you are generally having to wait before seeing your 20% statement credit on spending at restaurants taking part in the 20% offer? I had lunch at Wolseley City a few weeks ago just after the promo was launched and I still havent seen anything come through. For other promos I normally see the credit quite quickly. Does the timing of the statement credit have anything to do with the individual restaurants? I just dont want to forget about chasing Amex later on if it doesnt come through and I’m reluctant to dine using this offer again until I am credited and sure that I wont run into the same issue again! Tks
Offer credits in general have been a bit patchy for some time now. I sometimes get dining credits the same day, other times they can take weeks. No pattern that I can discern.
I’ve always had an app notification before the underlying transaction has moved from ‘pending’, and the credit has appeared within 24 hours of the transaction finalising.
It’s a mystery. I had one from the 20% offer in the summer which turned up after 3 months, whereas my latest visit triggered an email 5 minutes after leaving the restaurant ….
The Amex offers payout lottery is always quite irritating – the Nespresso offer credited the same day the transaction posted, meanwhile it’s been 3 weeks since I spent at Harvey Nics and still waiting for my £50.
My last HN one took over a month ….
