    What can you do if you have tried to get in contact with BA within 24 hours of a booking, but their lines are not working/you get disconnected. This means I am now over the 24 hour mark.

    Could you not cancel online via MMB? You’ll need to carry on trying, or submit a complaint form, showing that you’ve made reasonable efforts to contact them within the 24 hour period and that calling was your only option.

    Also, what kind of booking was it (avios/cash/holiday package? Online/by phone?) Not all types can be cancelled even within 24 hours.

    No- if you cancel via MMB there is a fee of £35pp. It was a simple avios booking.

    Where did you get that there’s a fee? You get everything back if you cancel within 24 hours, you don’t need to call.

    No- if you cancel via MMB there is a fee of £35pp. It was a simple avios booking.

    No fees apply in the first 24hrs. If you are seeing a fee it may because the 24hrs have lapsed. Note is is 24hrs from when you book, not until the end of the following day.

    Unfortunately I think BA might now push back and say this was something you could have done online.

    I spoke to customer service and they extended the period to 48 hours.
