We are considering cancelling our Platinum card but want to save our 450kpoints. I presume the best thing to do is dump them into Avios? Should we wait for a promo where you get a better conversion rate? Do those still happen? Also can anyone tell me about the logistics involved in leaving Amex?
We also have a ba premium Amex and have earned a 241 voucher and joining bonus for that and want to exit that card but not lose the voucher and joining avios.
Are you exiting to not have to pay or because you don’t want a CC?
If the former, I’d suggest you get a free Amex and that way you maintain all your points and the flexibility that comes with it.
The BAPP is similar. Move to the free BA card? If the voucher is already in your Exec account you are unlikely to lose this (though some people have reported this) but you will need an Amex to use it. Just doesn’t have to be the same one, or yours…
