Forums Hotel loyalty schemes Hilton Honors 5-4-4 points redemption issue

  • 132 posts

Looking at a 7 night stay over the Xmas period in Dubai.

Hotel is 70,000 points per night.

So I would have expected the total points redeemed to be 420,000 (with the 5th free).

    However the total shows 461,000?

Glitch in the app perhaps or do Hilton have a different policy when redeeming over Xmas.

Cheapest night of the five is free.

I suspect one night is priced higher.

When the Hilton website shows a points price it only means the first night is that price – it can vary for other nights.

    Hi Rob

I’m not sure that’s true for what night is free. Certainly not with my recent points redemption.

I booked a 544 and it was the actual fifth night I got free not the cheapest one.

    I was charged 295000 points not 300000.

As above, check the individual pricing, however I’m sure I’ve made bookings where the 5th night was free even if it wasn’t the cheapest, so you might want to play around with your dates.

Also – check the cancellation terms VERY closely as points bookings at peak times like Xmas are sometimes non-refundable.

*Just seen the post above this one, yes I’m pretty sure now it’s 5th night free, not cheapest.

Thanks for comments. The nights on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day seem to have been causing the issue.

My original search dates were from 27th Dec to 3rd Jan.

However, if I change to 23rd Dec to 30th Dec, it’s as expected (420,000 points).

Which Hilton in Dubai is it?
