Forums Payment cards American Express £50 credit from BA on my Gold Amex??

  • 9 posts

Can anyone shed any light as to why BA would have issued a £50 credit on my Gold Amex, without warning?

I’m totally up for an error in my favour but it seems a little odd. I last flew with them in December, and don’t recall any promotions that I took part in that would have led to this.

Did you link any of the offers that show up on the web-site to your gold card ? Maybe you triggered one of those ?

Your post has triggered my memory that I’d had one of these too. I didn’t have a clue and have only looked back now on my actual statement where it’s called “BRITISH AIRWAYS GB DIRECT ECOMM British Airways Offer”. I can’t remember what the offer was. However – triangulating between my statement, my emails and what I spent, it looks to me like it’s a Hilton £50 offer which has been credited as BA (I don’t think I ever get BA ofers on my Gold card, they’re usually on my BAPP).
Does that sound like your experience? BA won’t be too happy if they had to foot the bill 🙂

I definitely haven’t spent anything at Hilton, but it could be another offer, this is just why I am stumped!

So I’d search “We noticed you used your American Express® Card ending xxxxx at xxxxx. If your transaction meets the offer terms, your credit should appear on your statement within 30 business days” in your emails and see what turns up and whether it corresponds with the statement your £50 is on or the one beforehand…
