I see there is a new BA SUB of 50,000 points valid until 20th Feb. It says it is 2 x 25000 but not clear when you get the 2nd 25,000. Any ideas as I notice there is nothing on the forum about this offer (or maybe I just can’t find it). There is also a special offer to get tier points depending on how much you spend when you take out the card.
When I checked the deal it says 50k Avios for £3k spend.
you’d get the second 25000 at the same time once the £3k spend has been reached.

It should get added when your direct debit goes out, alongside the rest of the avios you earned during the month.
I got mine as 50000…took about a week from hitting the spend to it showing in my account and transferred as usual when it due to transfer which is usually monthly

If the Amex complaints handler is being intransigent it will be because they have been given some sort of evidence by the SUBs team to show that the application emanated from a source that didn’t entitle your OH to the higher SUB. Hopefully your OH has some sort of evidence to show that he did apply through the right link. What’s odd is that the 50k offer was more open to all compared to previous higher offers, so I’m not sure where Amex is suggesting the 25k link came from. The FOS investigator will look at the evidence from both sides and make an initial determination based on the balance of probabilities. If you are unhappy with that determination you can ask for a final decision by an Ombudsman.
@danimal – further to my earlier post, I think it’s worth noting in your complaint to the FOS that while under previous BA Amex welcome offer promotions the points were usually awarded as one ‘payment’, this one was stated in the offer that it would be delivered as 25k + 25k and some people received text messages to this effect (see above) but another reported getting the 50k in one go, so there appears to be inconsistency in Amex systems for determining/awarding suggestive of a defective process as part of a new, untested system which is perhaps why your OH was deprived of the second 25k.

Amex are adamant that the other 25k is paid via BA. I currently have an outstanding complaint with them to get the 25k applied, but waiting for an update.
It took multiple webchats to get either side to accept they were responsible for paying the 2nd 25k.
I also signed up via the 50k link but only received 25k. I’ve been complaining/querying this with both BA and Amex.

Don’t let Amex fob you off my sending you to BA. It’s ultimately up to Amex to fulfil the contract and if BA says no, you don’t really have any recourse but with Amex you can escalate to the FOS once you have exhausted the Amex complaints process. If you go to the FOS you will need to show you really were entitled to the 50k and went through the right channel.

I am in the same position. Applied via the 50000 link from the BA site but only got the 25000 points. Fortunately I had recorded the application. I complained to Amex and the complaint handler said the information was irrelevant and they have to go by the code that the backoffice records at their end. Refused to even look at the evidence. Going to FOS but still have not done it!
I triggered the 241 and have cancelled the card and got most of the fee bacl as i was still in 30 days.
