I was accepted via the online process on 1st March but despite 3 generic emails have never received card. Contacted Barclaycard via twitter today and was called back by a helpful-ish assistant. Upshot is card cancelled and will be reissued within 5 working days. I told him that I am aware this has been happening to a lot of people and he said yes that ‘some cards are showing on our system as having been issued when they haven’t’. Seems like a mess.
I then asked him to removed the £20 monthly fee I have no doubt aleady been charged but he said he could only do this once the new card was activated and if I called again. I said I didn’t want to call again and he then offered me a £20 credit to balance it out.
Not impressed so far and will be interested to see if the card finally turns up.
Already discussed at length on 2 current threads!
This forum really needs moderators…
And a way to notify those moderators.
You don’t really need a moderator to spot that 4 out of the current top 8 threads fall under “Barclays avios Mastercard” 😂
At least the title is pretty clear on this one.

This thread is actually relevant to its title and it’s in the correct forum so not sure why everyone getting so worked up about it. Anyway…
Because this issue is already being discussed in other threads.

Yes – seen that now but the titles aren’t related to the issue I wrote about hence why I started a new one.
Having now trawled through the other threads it’s clear the entire launch of the card is a debacle for everyone concerned. More annoyingly, the compensation / refunds given on the monthly fee seem arbitrary and dependent on which customer service operator you end up speaking to as some people have had refund plus £30, others like me just a £20 credit to cover the monthly fee.

Some of us haven’t even had the £20 credit… If I get the first statement before the card arrives (if it ever does arrive), I would have been put out of pocket for no reason whatsoever. It’s looking increasingly like one for the Ombudsman…
This is turning into a disaster. Similarly accepted 2 weeks ago. I have a pin number and now getting statements but no card. Today alone 1 hour on hold and the service is pitiful, on a par with creation. For this I am paying £20 a month!!!!
Saturday on call for 30 minutes to clueless staff and then cut off but of course no call back nothing. Hugely frustrating.
Am currently on hold with Barclaycard for this every issue . 40 mins and counting. Sounds like people having more efficient response through Twitter . Surely has to be the same £20 rebate plus £30 goodwill credit for everyone affected in the same way ?
