Hi,
I am thinking about travelling to Windhoek going LHR-JNB-WDH and return.
I am planning to book the LHR-JNB (and return) legs using my 241 Amex voucher in CW as there is usually pretty good availability.
I was wondering if there was any way of adding the JNB-WDH-JNB sectors to the same booking even though they would need to be paid for in cash? Or am I just going to have to accept that it will require a separate booking with SAA or Airlink (I don’t want to look at 2 stop routes e.g. with Qatar Airways)?
Apologies if this has been discussed before but I couldn’t find it in the forums.
Thanks.
I did that route last year and far as I recall it wasn’t possible. Great choice btw, Namibia is in my top 3 most favourite places on earth.
Thanks Amy, we went there a few years back and loved it so looking to return in the not too distant future.
I think you need to share the other 2 destinations in your top 3 though!!!
No, there’s no way of adding a cash booking to a redemption. There’s also no way of adding a separate redemption to a companion voucher booking. And BA won’t through check luggage on separate bookings even if they’re both BA, so no chance here.
Fairly sure QR fly to Windhoek though, so it would only be one stop if you could find availability – no good for your companion voucher though.
Thanks Matt for the answer I feared!

I read that QR have recently ceased WDH flights, they say it’s temporary but who knows, it’s a real shame as I was thinking of using them one day as a reward booking. My ex is a QR captain and said those flights were always empty.
TravelsWithMyHP….As for the other 2 destinations, I’m not that sure actually. I’d probably say British Columbia is definitely one and certain places on the East Coast of Australia I love. And NZ! But Namibia is very special.
