Forums Frequent flyer programs The British Airways Club Adding an extra child to a redemption booking

  • 28 posts

We currently have 3 avios seats on a flight to Abtalya. Our child has asked if we can now take a friend .
An Avios seat is available for sale, however we can’t book it as a stand alone for a 9 year old.
Can I call BA and add the extra Avios seat booking to our booking or do I need to cancel and hope our 3 seats go back into the pot..
If the latter, I’d rather be 2nd best and do the slides at the aqua park myself with our 9 year old than risk losing the seats..

Call BA, they should also not charge the service fee.

Not going to go into the requirements about a non family member travelling – they will need to be added to Friends and Family (pretty certain)

Call and book it by phone, it will be a separate booking though. Wouldn’t risk cancelling !

A decent CS rep should be able to add another PAX into the PNR and force the ticket / revalidation – now that the fares are all RFS on SH, there won’t be any fare difference. Else they are going to create a separate PNR for an accompanied minor … which could cause issues

It’s simply not possible for an agent to add a passenger to an existing PNR. It’s no issue having a child on a separate booking but it can only be done by an agent because they need to add the necessary links between the two bookings. This is a fairly standard procedure as children often travel with a different adult on different legs of the trip.
