Forums Hotel loyalty schemes Hilton Honors Adding Hilton Honors number to direct booking made on my behalf

  • 16 posts

Quick question for the forum – I am in London for an event this week (my company is exhibiting at the Hilton Metropole) – our marketing team has reserved 2 rooms at the hotel for 2 nights for me and my colleague on a card. Its “pay on arrival” so I will put this on my Amex and claim back to get the MR points. Is it possible for the hotel to add my Honors ID number tp the booking at the same time when I pay so so I get the Hilton Honors points and nights added also?

They won’t do this for 3rd party bookings normally, you need to book direct (or with an agreed agent like Emyr). Sometimes they will give an upgrade and free breakfast to status members but I imagine you’ve already got the latter.

You say ‘direct booking’ in the title of the post. If this is the case (or it is booked via a corporate agent whom allow hilton nights to be credited) – then call up the hotel and get your Honours number added to the booking now. All will then fall in to place upon arrival.

Some corporate booking agents’ system do indeed honour Hilton Honours (see what I did there!). It depends on the rate and the agreement. In the past I had some that worked, some that did not. Nothing to lose, just get your HH added to your booking to see.

Agreed, nothing to lose. Just contact the hotel, and you may be pleasantly surprised.

Thanks all for the advice – its been booked direct with Hilton seemingly through a direct link to the Hilton site supplied by the event organisers on a “special rate” (not cheap !! – its an annual 3 day event booked by them every December) – the screenshot I’ve been given by my marketing team shows a Hilton booking confirmation page. I’m Hilton Gold but got breakfast included anyyway in my rate and doubt I will get any upgrade as hotel is sold out. I’m just more interested in getting the points and the nights credit!

Will give them a call in the morning and will see if they can add my HH number to the booking!

They should be able to add it no problem. As other people said, worst case scenario you’ll add it at check in.
They even add it on third party bookings (Expedia, etc.). On those you don’t ever get points (I think), but some hotels even honour benefits (when I was in college in the US I once got an upgrade to a corner room on a Hampton Inn on a third party booking!).
