Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club Al-Mourjan Garden lounge with flight connection @ A Gate

    Travelling on QR989 (MEL-DOH), landing at 22:35.

    Onward flight is QR11 (DOH-LHR), departing 01:50.

(Business class booking via BA.com, 90k Avios pp)

It’s a busy time at Doha airport, so we would probably prefer to visit the Al Mourjan Garden lounge as it’s a) Newer so fewer people will know about it, b) a bit further away from main terminal, so more likely to be able to get a shower (#1 priority)

Our flight departs an A gate so it’s apparently a decent walk to/from the Al Mourjan Garden lounge. Has anyone done this before, how long does it take roughly? Ideally it would be nice to get an airport buggy (from inbound aircraft) but I don’t think they can be pre-booked?

You can take the monorail between gate areas, it’s all reasonably compact at DOH, so won’t take too long to get from your arrival gate to the Garden lounge. And yes, it’s a nicer, quieter lounge than the original.

Thanks Andrew, monorail sounds like a good plan. Glad you think Al-Mourjan Garden Lounge is the best bet too 👍🏻

We had an even shorter layover in May this year, arriving 06:20 and departing 08:35, and spent a lovely hour or so relaxing in the Al-Mourjan Garden Lounge.

It must have been a ten or twelve minute leisurely walk (including efficient monorail transit) which was nice after a 14.5 hr flight, and we almost had the place to ourselves.

It’s only a snack-type buffet, so not a patch on the range of offering in the large, main Al-Mourjan lounge, but it was perfectly adequate for our purposes with comfortable seating, quiet, light and airy aspect and spotlessly clean, including fully serviced toilet/showers.

We found it to be a pleasant and welcoming oasis of calm, well worth discovering.

You must have missed the QR code menu which is a full a la carte menu, suitable for the time of day. The steak is very nice.
