Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club Alaska Airlines delays in getting Avios / TP credited

  • 10 posts

Still waiting for Tier Points and Avios for a flight with Alaska Airlines in September 2022. Have raised a partner airlines claim with BAExec (12/10/22). Phoned BA Exec Club and they said it was submitted to Alaska 02/11/22 (No explanation why a 3 week delay). Still waiting. Raised a complaint with BA on 01/12/22. Have a case number and an incident number but no points yet. Any advice? How long should it take for Alaska to credit points after a flight? Very frustrating!

Alaska are absolute pants … full stop….

…to expand … not only did they reroute me (and wife) to go via Seattle (okay – a month or so notice) but then – after checking at Seattle lounges (2 of them – and to be told everything was good – twice) – their baggage handlers decided to put both of my bags on baggage reclaim in Seattle, rather than to our final destination. Bags were there for 2 hours, during that time, 1 bag was stolen f…. (photographic proof from police) so arrived in Hawaii with no luggage, 1 arrived following day, the other, luggage tag suggests it made it to downtown Seattle and is now in a waste dump in Eastern Washington….oh thats also not to mention the difficulties actually boarding due to some oddity with the ticket number not appearing (due to their changes….and having to be last to board the flight ….and the plane – no IFE and very old!)

…the points also should have made my wife Gold … but despite many, many phonecalls, emails, (to BA) and provision of boarding passes and even a printout I had previously taken from the Alaska website showing ticket class….(which was oddly required) … it took from August to November to be credited….

PS. this was on a BA issued 125- ticket stock!

Never, ever, again will I travel Alaska, I will actively avoid them.

Send a copy of your boarding pass to BA using their site and mentioning your case number…. http://www.britishairways.com/ecsupportingdocs

Were you transitting at Seattle from the UK?

If so, you must always collect your bag, take it through customs and re-check when arriving in the USA. It’s not a BA or Alaskan policy, it’s a CBP requirement.

I get where you are coming from but Im not a novice traveling to the US (neither is my wife), first port of call is your entry to the US…..unless of course you go through CBP at an offshore location such as SNN or DUB.

So…Nope…. BUD-HNL (actually KOA) route …. (BUD-LHR (BA) , LHR-JFK (BA) (overnight @ JFK and transited CBP and customs here), JFK-LAX (AA), LAX-SEA (Alaska), SEA-KOA(Alaska) …. so, the bag was with us all the way to SEA….and wasnt even an interline bag … just Alaska-to-Alaska within the same terminal…..

I’m sorry to hear this..what a terrible experience with your bags!

On a positive note, I just got the Tier Points awarded for my Alaska flight – it took 3 months for them to be awarded and again after much chasing/phone calls/emails/social media queries to BA (slow/no responses) A very poor customer experience.

Now just chasing for my hubby’s points for the same flight 🙁
