Last time I churned my credit cards was a few years back. I signed up for the Plat Amex, hit the target then a few months later signed up for the BA PP Amex and again hit the target on that. I cancelled the Plat Amex in October 2021 but have kept hold of the BA Amex since and have just used it to hit the voucher target each year alongside collecting points/vouchers on Virgin mastercard.
My question here is that I know you can sign up for both the plat/gold amex and the BA amex and get the bonus’. But I wanted to clarify if I am now eligible again for a sign up bonus on gold/play given I cancelled in 2021 but I have kept hold of the BA amex.
Plat yes, gold no. Why not just check the terms for relevant card on Amex website, would be quicker then typing a question here.
Because its quite a specific scenario with multiple cards and trawling through terms isn’t always clear or swift. But thanks for your welcoming response
This is always a good article to keep to hand:

Really useful flow, thank you. Not sure why I thought it could be done with 24 month churn on Gold whilst still holding BA Amex but the above has clarified it needs to be Plat only for this to work.
We already have a plat in the household of which im supp so not sure the current sign up bonus is worth the current 40K plus referral bonus as it stands!
Best case just speak to the amex agents on chat.. they can tell you straight away if eligible since they have all record. Also good to keep them as screenshot for proof.
Unfortunately we have heard enough accounts of amex agents giving incorrect information to make this advice unsound. I would rely on Rob’s article and my own careful record of cancellation dates.
@Flying, NEVER rely on BA’s chat agents. As @Zio says they get it wrong all the time and you have very little comeback of they do. Even your screenshots would generate only say 5k points compensation, not the full SUB you’ve missed out on when they inevitably get it wrong.
Anyone wanting to play the SUB game really has to up their own admin. Keeping the cancellation date letter Amex send is the minimum for anyone who wants to play the game IMHO.
I would wait for the next plat sign up bonus uplift. I lost count of the number of people over the years who posted they regret not waiting. Just carry on working on your BA or Virgin voucher for the year. Or look into the Barclays card if you need a boost as Rob indicated unlikely to see better bonus for a long while on that one.
Holding the BA card longer term was a mistake.
If you’re going to hold a card it should be the Nectar then you’re eligible for Platinum Ann the BAPP bonus
You would need to close all cards to be eligible for Gold/Bonvoy/Nectar sign up but having the Gold would exclude you from getting the platinum bonus.
