Hi all, first post, long time lurker!
I’ve been in chat with Amex and they seem to suggest that if you upgrade Gold > Plat it’s a hard search.
Any clarity on this? A lot of the resources on here suggest otherwise.
Income isn’t an issue. I have the Gold and the BA card, both are paid off in full when statement is generated.
Further, I’ve not had any platinum upgrade offers on the card. How would one go about triggering them?

Is an odd one, because you keep the same card number (and even the same card until they can be bothered to issue a new one) so all Amex does is change the name of your card in its system!
Does that require a search? No idea, but I can see why it wouldn’t given your card number etc is unchanged.
