Forums Payment cards American Express Amex Dining

Seems like the new Amex Dining offer (not the £150 credit) is available on Platinum cards, and is now 20% (despite amexdining.com saying 10%). Anyone tried it out yet?

It also seems like they’ve removed Hawksmoor from the list 🙁

It’s 20% on both platinum and gold and landed this morning so no one would’ve had a credit yet but if it says 20% you’ll get 20% regardless of what the map link says (other cards might still be getting 10%)

what do you want to know?

And Giraffe is gone too 🙁

The dining ad has a site for Hawksmoor and then it isn’t listed. It’s almost as if the site is a bit buggy.

Ham Yard also gone I think.

For the places left a 20 per cent discount is pretty good but I hope it isn’t replacing the dining credit.

I do find the website very buggy on my phone it struggles to show anything outside of London regardless of what location I enter.

Yeah, seems like they’ve considerably removed the number of restaurants. Honest Burgers is still there so yay I guess?

I also saw the Hawksmoor ad, but clicking on it redirects to an infinite loading page…

Probably one of the worst website’s I’ve used for a long time. Map crashes, unable to display location so defaults to London – dire.

Sounds just like the Amex Shop Small website!

    Exactly what I thought.

Think I’ve finally fell into the trap of dining at a restaurant and using my Amex Platinum with the expectation of receiving cashback on a dining offer to then find out that the restaurant has been removed from the list of participants.

Looks like Honest Burger has been removed from this offer, it was even prominently highlighted as a participant in the post from only 2 weeks ago.

    https://www.headforpoints.com/2024/09/09/get-20-cashback-at-1300-restaurants-with-amex/

What’s worse is that I have a 12% cashback on Monzo that I didn’t use.

Anyone had their cash back on this offer yet? We ate in one of the chain pubs just after the offer landed (about 5/6 weeks ago) that is included & named on the site, but so far no credit appeared in my Amex Platinum account. I’ve not used in the past as options limited around us but this place was convenient at the time. I’ve not contacted Amex yet as know I’ll get the usual can take up to 90 days or whatever to credit.

Mine appeared as soon as the original charge was no longer pending. The estate Avios also appeared at the same time.

Ham Yard is back on the list. The twenty per cent rebate came through very quickly.

You also get avios if your card is registered, though technically they don’t have to give you these if you are taking advantage of another offer. We’ll see if I get them.

Incidentally, Honest Burger is also currently on the rebate list.

Having really strange and annoying issue with the dining abroad credit. Would love to know if anyone else had this problem. We travelled to Amsterdam and ate at Breda which we choose as was on the list on the app when I booked it in October 2024. We ate late November 2024 and did not get the £150 back from Amex. Turns out it came off the list a couple of weeks before we ate there! But amex complaint are saying that it was NEVER on the list. Is very hard to find proof that it was on the list… i did not have screen shot.
    But the website
site does show that it was on there last year.
From reading other posts, i think I am not the first person to fall fowl of not checking on the day of dining that the place has not been removed. I would have thought they lasted until at least end of the year.

Since the Amex change in this reward start of 2025 there are NO restaurants in The Netherlands now that have new offer.

They have offered me small compensation but I really want to keep the complaint going. They say they will not honour it unless I can prove it was on the list.

We had dinner there in August 2022 and definitely got the credit for it.

After a two day gap, the 10/20% Amex dining offer should be back, running until the end of June. BUT it isn’t yet available for registration on the cards. What’s more, I can only access the new dining site on my phone. On a computer, I just get a ‘coming soon’ holding page.

Hopefully it will go live properly in a day or two.

This is not the £100 home/abroad credit offer, it is the discount one (but it does stack if a restaurant is in both groups).

Did anyone actually manage to get the offer saved to their Amex Plat? Chat is telling me it’s not appearing because I’m not eligible, but I’m suspecting they have no clue what they are talking about?

It’s on my husband’s Plat card (saved today) but not on my Plat (not a supp but my own). He’s had his Plat for years but I’ve only had my Plat for 3 months (though despite moving virtually all my card spend to my Plat, I don’t get many offers on this relatively new card).

Managed to add it to my Platinum but dissapointed to see it’s reduced to 10%. I was getting plenty of use out of the 20% offer as it’s certainly a big enough discount to sway my opinion on where to eat.

It does look like a few more restaurants have been added but hoping we see a return to 20% at some point in the future.

Still not on my Platinum card yet.

Same, asked chat and it took me about 15min to explain to them what the offer is… only to be told that I’m supposedly not eligible and I should check back at the end of the month (???)

Same here, spoke to chat & they said I’m not eligible at the moment (took ages for them to understand what offer I was talking about)..

I have the 10% showing on my Amex rewards card, but nothing showing on my platinum. Very strange

Same, I have it on the Platinum Cashback, but not the Platinum. Naturally, AmEx sent me an email telling me about this amazing offer and encouraging to add it to the Platinum online…
