Hi,
I would like to file a complaint with Amex but couldn’t find any email address.. Only live chat or sending a letter option is available when looking online.
Does anyone know if Amex has a email address?
Hey – there are a couple of email addresses for Platinum/Centurion cardholders but I think your best bet would be to actually call Amex and log a complaint via the UK-based call centre. They won’t ignore it – you’ll receive confirmation that they’re on it within a couple of days and they will keep you updated on what’s happening, should they take longer than their usual resolution timescale.
I wouldn’t bother with live chat. You could send a letter, but speaking to someone trumps that in my view.
unfortunately going via live chat has proved unsuccessful.. they now keep suggestion I should send a letter and point to this page: https://www.americanexpress.com/uk/legal/complaints-procedures.html

It’s actually much better to send a letter setting out the details of your complaint and any supporting information/documentation rather than telephoning only for the agent to paraphrase what you have said, often missing elements or key details you consider important and you also have no proper record of your complaint (ie no way of seeing if it was correctly noted) as subsequently forwarded to the complaints team.
I know what you’re saying, but I speak from experience having lodged three complaints with Amex. The agent takes notes, and reads them back to you for you to accept or tweak. You then get a dedicated case number, which is important should you need to send supporting documents via their electronic portal. Every time, the response indicated that the call was listened to (in addition to the notes being read) by the complaints agent.
I have found the process flawless. Again, I’m not disputing the effectiveness of sending a letter, but I feel a phone call yields more immediate results, so I feel that it wins on the efficiency category.
