I currently have 20,000 reward points from Amex gold. I would like to redeem for a hotel and flight or could these be of better value converted in Avios ? Any advice what is the best value conversion ?Generally bad value to redeem points on an Amex Travel booking. Better to transfer the points to an Amex partner and book yourself directly with them. That extracts greater value per point. As per usual advice, there’s no short cut to understanding the best use of points to maximise their value. Extensive reading on the HfP site and forums would be my recommendation before doing anything hasty with the points.
In the autumn Amex tend to offer a 30% extra Hilton Honors points promotion. That’s when I cash in my MR points.
If you haven’t taken out a BA card, you will still qualify for the SUB on the BAPP, and if you can achieve 10K spend, the 2 4 1 will double the value of your Avios, minus the card fee.
