Amex Gold Supplementary card query

Thinking of applying for the gold card (within 24 months of cancellation so no SUB). If approved, is it best to get complimentary supplementary card immediately (within application) or is there a possibility of bonus if I delay requesting it – say for one month?

Last time I applied for the supp at time of application.

3,000 MR is the standard offer. If you aren’t in a big hurry, Amex will offer 5,000 within a few weeks.

I had the BAPP and then added an additional user when my card arrived two days later, and then the bonus Avios was there. Amex CS say that you get it for the first card added to the account, so I’d assume waiting until the card arrives is the safest option. I didn’t even have to use any special link.
