Hi everyone,
I’m sorry if it has been asked in the past but couldn’t find it.
I have BAPP and Platinum with different login details. Is it worth it linking the cards under a single login account?
Moreover, does the Platinum travel insurance cover flights booked with the BAPP card if they are under separate accounts or do they need to be under the same login account?
Many thanks,
Zen
Yes, you should only have one Amex login that shows all your cards. In respect of insurance, having one login or two logins makes no difference. The terms of the policy apply, so you need to check that quite carefully – some sections require you to use the Plat card whereas for other sections any Amex will do and some don’t require you to use Amex at all.
It certainly makes things easier with one login. In the past when I did churning I had two cards (one was supplementary) which couldn’t be linked to my regular account and nobody at Amex could get to the bottom of it, so I have 3 Amex logins which are name0, name1 and name2. Since I don’t churn anymore I only use name0
The travel insurance just requires payment with an Amex (for some things, some don’t even need that) – you don’t need them on the same login/account, you don’t even need to use one from the same country.
Thank you everyone for the info.
I will get in touch with Amex in order to link all the cards.
Happy and safe travels on 2024!
Decide which account you want to keep and remove the card from the other, you should be able to add that card to the account you are keeping. If it doesn’t work straight away give it a day or two and it should.
The one advantage I can think of for having multiple accounts is that they have their own separate balance and (importantly) referral limits.

Each card has its own referral limit and balance, not sure why you believe it to be otherwise.
I have had a single log in account for years, I have the Platinum Chargecard, The BAPP and the Blue Chargecard, each comes with their own balance, offers, referral limits (I tend to do the 90,000 MR on Platinum first and then I move to BAPP for any extra ones, easy to do with the regular enhanced 18,000 MR offer per referral).
When you log in, you have a main overview dashboard but then need to select each card to go into the specific card account view, and need to go back and select another card to see that other account.
There is not actually a way to see a “total/aggregated balance” as opposed to their own separate balances, which is standard
Each card has its own referral limit
Not quite true. Each card ‘family/currency’ has it’s own limit. If, for example, you had two MR reward earning cards you have one MR referral limit. If however you happened to have the two cards under two logins you’d end up with double the MR referral limit.

I did not even think about that scenario to be fair, but yes, more in different card families. Nevertheless, balances are definitely separate
