Does a transfer via PayPal to someone else, when you select the ‘Sending to Friends & Family’ option count on Amex towards your minimum spend?
Asked many times. Yes it counts as spend. Go overboard though/take the mick and paypal will take a very dim view of you.
Is £2k fine, once only?
Sorry, I’m not the PayPal Police.
However, me personally I wouldn’t risk it in one transaction, and especially if I didn’t have a regular history of PayPal payments for goods & services.
Not just PayPal.
Amex have been known to shut accounts down for this behaviour too. It’s a cash transaction afterall.
There’s probably a “safe” level that will fly under the radar but considering the risk is losing your paypal or amex, or potentially both. It just isn’t worth it.
