I have recieved my AMEX Platinum card and have just phoned AMEX to cancel my BAPP. I was told that if I cancelled today the AVIOS due to be transferred on 5 April would be forfeit. I should call back on 10 April (my renewal date!). More ‘tosh’ from AMEX call centre?
Wait for the transfer then canx. E.g. 6th / 7th?

I’ve had points transfer after cancelling but I’ve also forfeited them – if its more points than what you’ll pay for a few more days then I’d wait.
