Does the car insurance benefit on the Amex Platinum apply to the supplementary card holder if they are the hirer of the car? I tried searching and attempted the Ts&Cs but not much joy finding a definitive answer. Thanks!
@jeff – you should read the policy but, E&OE, under 1.Worldwide Travel Insurance it says that supplementary card holders are covered (and the car cover comes under this section at 1.5). One small point is that cover can only apply to one rental at a time so you and your supp(s) can’t both hire cars at the same time. The cover applies to all drivers on the rental agreement as long as main/supp is also on the contract.
