Forums Payment cards American Express AMEX Platinum Cashback card (no fee)

I’ve had a look around, and can’t see the answer to my question, so apologies if I’ve missed it somewhere.

I’ve been an AMEX Platinum cashback cardholder for 5 or 6 years now. Each year, I manage to get approximately £150-250 cashback (0.5% for first £5k, 1% thereafter).

There are many options for different cards, each with different rewards associated with them. Is there a comparison/calculator available anywhere which will indicate which other cards from that provider would be worth swapping to? It may be that I’m getting the best deal with what I’m on, but I’m keen to maximise the potential where possible!

    Cheers.

The cashback thresholds changed to £10K over a year ago, so might not be the right assumption to make.

Moving over the the annual fee version is the best option for you, as once you hit £10K spending, you break even and the annual fee version wins from then onwards with its 1.25% cashback rate.

Thanks, now you’ve said that I seem to remember seeing something regarding the base rate threshold.

Are you suggesting the Platinum cashback card with £25 annual fee?
