I would suggest you call AXA who is the company behind the insurance. My gut feel is unless you are going to a country that still has restrictions, then this would be similar treatment to if you got sick like the flu before any other holidays.
Hi @roger – there is no explicit mention of covid in the insurance policy so it must be considered as any other ‘illness’ under this cover. Is there anything in particular you are concerned about?

It should be covered by the policy if you can get your doctor to certify that you should not/cannot travel. In that respect, Covid is now just like any other illness that might be covered on the policy. Whether your doctor will do that for you is another issue.
How do you prove you have covid again? Is it with LFT or a PCR?
Well someone in my office is “WFH” due to covid so it must be a thing!
I am not sure whether my GP will write such letter.
Just planning for the worst case scenario.

It’s definitely a thing; quite a few people seem to be getting covid at the moment. As a result, I would imagine that insurers will be quite strict about allowing claims for covid and you will need more than a positive test to make a successful claim. To be safe you really need the doctor to say travel is contra-indicated. This ought to cut off any argument about the illness not being unforeseen.

They are simply two different types of test. Neither exactly proves anything, nor would be sufficient for an insurer.
Oh dear Roger, you’re not having much luck if this is another issue for your Seychelles trip!

Not an issue just yet but mentally covering for any scenario which may or may not arise.
No one in family has tested and showing no symptoms of any such thing!
