Amex Platinum vs Marriott Amex – 15 nights

hi all,
I am looking to get the AMEX Platinum and i currently have the AMEX Marriott. The Marriott card gives me 15 credit night a year, which helps me retain my status. The platinum card comes with Gold Marriott status, but does it also give me the 15 night credits? Ideally i dont want to keep both cards. Thanks

No, you don’t get any night credits with the Platinum as it’s not affiliated to any hotel chain, unlike the Marriott Bonvoy card.

You have to actively sign up for the gold status as well, it’s not automatic.

So, fundamentally, if you want Platinum with Marriott then you need the Bonvoy Amex for the 15 nights. The Platinum Gold won’t help you with that goal.
