Hey,
Just giving a heads up, looks like Amex has decided to remove 20k bonus points from my account because they messed up. Most likely affects people who signed up for 30k amex gold deals and after achieving the spend limit, you were then presented with another one for 20k after spending another £3k.
I guess I’m not the only one since they have banner on the app and PDF file explaining the reason.
I’m somewhat annoyed since I diverted spending on other cards and even spent more than my usual budget to make sure I could achieve it.
For those who moved the points straight away, congrats!
Can you share the PDF? That’s really not on, you should definitely raise a complaint about it.
The same happened to me! I complained about it, they tried to firstly offer 3k points for the problem, then they offered 5k. I told them that it was unacceptable and that I would have sought legal advice.
The thing is though that originally I was told that I would have needed to pay the difference in reward points. After another call I was told that I would not have had to pay for the negative amount of reward points.
