Stayed at Hambleton Hall in May and had banked a £100 off a £500 spend on R&C Hotel. After a month it hadn’t come through and contacted AMEX through chat and they said that there is a problem as Hambleton Hall is not a R&C hotel. Sent them through proof and they acknowledged that it was and I would be paid.
I have chased every fortnight and keep get fobbed off. They have even given me £40 compensation for waiting but still no cash back. The last contact they said that I have to wait until 6 months after the offer ended (not when the spend was incurred) which takes me to the end of November. I am not confident of receiving it then but we shall see.
If they don’t pay up I will take it to FOS which will cost them £850 to defend. Since this offer I haven’t taken part in cash back offers as I don’t trust them to pay out.
It makes no sense AMEX’s attitude on this and totally self defeating. I’m wondering if anyone else has had to wait this long?
We have been waiting since July 30th for a Marriot credit of £75. Spend 200/75 back. It’s over the 90mdays, they say it will happen, but then say, we possibly don’t qualify, after 3 months. Well, we have it in writing that we do qualify, so, will give them another couple of weeks and remind them again,
