Forums Hotel loyalty schemes Marriott Bonvoy Annual choice benefit – renewing Platinum

  • 23 posts

A week ago, I’ve renewed my Platinum status. When am I going to be able to select my annual choice benefit? Also, will I be able to select it twice? I’m going to get a Titanium status within next 4-5 weeks.

Can’t remember how quickly it appears but, yes, you get another shot (different options – you can pick a free night voucher) at Titanium.

No rush, you can choose until 6th January 2023. Suite Night Awards are automatically selected if you don’t pick.

    Thank you!

I’ve always picked Suite Night Awards in the past but of late I’ve had no luck whatsoever with them being successful. Thank god they’ve extended them, but even with the extension I’m going to lose a load at this rate.

Have you still got that Platinum status to gift? 😇

Where did you try to use your SNAs? I’ve successfully used my SNAs at Sheraton Warsaw, Marriott Berlin and Prague in the last 6 months

Another successful SNA redemption – The Bristol, (The Luxury Collection) Vienna. 2 night stay, the selected suite is currently selling for approx £1100-1200 per night (standard rooms currently selling for £260-360/n). I was given my preferred choice, even though they seem to have only 3 of those suites & I’ve picked 2 options just in case

Have your SNAs actually cleared? They can still be rejected five days out and some hotels are also known to deny you SNA upgrade on the spot.

Yep! I got a confirmation email almost an hour after the 2pm ‘deadline’, and 30 min later, my room was updated in the app as well (it was only pending until today). I hope they don’t deny it on the spot – it’s a part of my birthday trip (they don’t know that unless they checked my details) and I have a Titanium status. I am checking in tomorrow.

I got the suite that I wanted (that was confirmed). I’m glad I’ve used my SNAs at this hotel

I’m on a roll – got a great SNU to clear at St Regis Venice and (ahem) another at Courtyard Gatwick. I’ve actually never had one fail yet, albeit I am playing the game a bit (eg I deliberately checked suite bookings for St Regis before I booked last week).

It must be the magic Raffles touch. I’ve been Titanium (or equivalent) since 2017 and have found them mostly useless. The places I’d like to redeem them at never seem to accept them and the places that accept them are the ones where I’d likely bag a suite upgrade even without using them.

This is why I took the 5 elite nights at Platinum, might as well go for Titanium, still 7 months left in the year then maybe I’ll take the SNA.

If you get to Titanium (75 nights) then it’s best to take the FNA (Free Night Award), but don’t select it as the choice until January 2023 (that way you’ll get longer eligibility on the FNA)
