Just got an email welcoming me to Platinum.
I already am by virtue of paying for Ambassador status last October. I’ve only stayed 6 nights this year, and my Creation that was cancelled nearly 2 years ago was only the basic card so I should have been granted silver.
But apparently I’m now plat until 31/12/24
I got similar but for diamond. Had diamond since the switch from Spire and renewed last year via ambassador until 12/24. No idea what is going on.
I also had “congrats on reaching diamond’ email this evening. I have been diamond for a few years but expected to lose it December 31, 2023. Email tells me I have diamond status through end of 2024. Let’s see what happens next.
Just got the same, bet it’s just an IT error, but maybe they will be nice and extend everyone! Very happy with being diamond (free from the stay 15 nights to Diamond promo last year, which I would have done even without the promo)
I just received an email welcoming me to Diamond, expiring 31/12/24. My current Diamond was meant to expire end of this year. I haven’t reached 140K points yet this year. So it was a bit of a surprise!

I have a zero-point entry in my activity dated today: “IHG Credit Card SILVER Status Upgrade”, so it looks like they’ve just processed the promised Silver-till-2024 offer for previous IHG/Creation cardholders and that’s what’s triggered the emails. I suppose we should be thankful they haven’t overwritten higher status with Silver in the process!
My “Congratulations on reaching Diamond” email says Diamond status through Dec 2024, but the app still says Dec 2023. I plan on renewing Ambassador shortly anyway to lock in Diamond, but if they are locking in existing status for a further year as part of the former cardholder loyalty offer, that might be useful to some. I’ll keep an eye on the app and report back if my status expiry updates to 31/12/2024 before I renew Ambassador next month.
May be something to do with the promises on the credit card because having looked at my account statement I have a line today for:

Just checked and mine says IHG CC Silver status upgrade. So I guess I won’t know until next year if they have actually maintaned the Plat or it’ll drop me to silver.
Didn’t receive any email about Diamond status extension but received phone text indicates all IHG points and reward night earned will only be credited on 30/09.

Another data point on the negative side – Mrs GT was Diamond Ambassador with expiry date of 31/12/23. She received the email but has NOT had her membership in the app extended to 31/12/24 yet…
My account now shows Dec 2024 but I have renewed Ambassador while Diamond and earned Diamond by points this year so far. Not sure Creation played a part as they emailed me to give only Platinum for 2024!
Player 2 renewed Ambassador recently and is now sparkly till 2024. I’ve had the sparkly email but still only showing as valid till the end of this year. I’ve queried it via email, not mentioning Ambassador, of course.
I dont have ambassador,got the email, but my account still showing as 23. I got really excited, but now think it’s an error.
I got “Welcome to Gold” and “Welcome to Diamond” emails within a few minutes of each other. Within couple of days, my profile settled down and it was showing Diamond correctly.
So it sounds like everyone who had the premium card will be Platinum until 2024, but there was an error where the email said Diamond until 2024 for those who are currently Diamond.
Did anyone who renewed Diamond for 2023, by buying Ambassador in 2022, actually get downgraded when IHG did that status review a few months ago?

I got spire/diamond mainly through creation spend and then extended via Ambassador sub last year. Waiting for the last free night voucher to hit and then have 3 nights to burn with one Amb weekend night payment. Top IC recommendation for a long weekend short haul?
I now have Diamond Elite showing until end 2024. 🙂
