I haven’t read the Ts and Cs but I don’t see how they would even know where you live, so they’d have to disqualify any UK car hire and someone reported previously that UK flight plus car holidays work for the double TPs. Hopefully this was just a case of what an individual BA agent thought!
I suspect you’re right. It’s possibly a combination of one individual baulking at someone trying to book 10 segments and a dubious car hire. I wouldn’t book car hire from Belfast as that is where my journeys originate. Besides, I give my address to pass security and again to make payment.
I guess there’s always the risk when you share how a combination of factors can work in your favour, that someone will make a phone call that leads to the end of that benefit.
Doh – just realised this isn’t the pinned thread! We may need to double check some of our BAH bookings, as per this from @flyingmoo:
“So..it seems they have changed the T&Cs recently > https://www.britishairways.com/en-gb/executive-club/offers/holidays-double-tier-points
f) implies connecting flights within UK (eg: BHDLHR in BHDLHRDOH) wont be counted??
e) basically rules out holidays over a month and
b) non BA codeshares dont count!?b) The booking must contain British Airways flights including codeshares and British Airways marketed and/or operated flights only. Flights not meeting these criteria within the booking won’t be awarded Tier Points. Flights offered as part of a British Airways Holidays package that are provided by other airline partners that do not have a BA flight number will not be eligible. Please note: Flights marketed by British Airways with or without a BA flight number that are operated by Aer Lingus, China Southern or LATAM are not eligible for Tier Points.

e) The total trip length (time between first flight departing the UK and final flight returning to the UK) cannot exceed 30 days.
f) Bookings can only contain one flight departing the UK, multiple journeys from the UK within one booking will not qualify.”
The wording of (b) is ambiguous.
It could mean one non-BA flight (including codeshares) means no double TPs.
It could mean the non-BA flight doesn’t earn double.
I scanned it a few days ago and assumed the latter interpretation, I’m less sure now.
Bit xonfused by this.
When, exactly, did these conditions change? Was it before this thread?Or, horror of horrors! has Mr X been active again?
FT has a long thread on this and notes that the new rules came into force on the 27th, which is good news for those of us who booked our “complex itineraries” prior to that. Point 9 in the link to the Ts and Cs does confirm this. These new Ts and Cs would make a good HFP article.
I’m not clear on whether the double TPs are awarded manually; I can’t see BA’s IT being up to distinguishing which bookings fall under the old rules and which under the new ones.
The way I read it is that if any of the sectors in a booking breach the new Ts and Cs, none will be awarded the double TPs.

The updated terms and conditions should only apply to bookings made after the new T&Cs were brought in. Any bookings made prior to this will be subject to the T&Cs at time of booking.
Lot of talk on here about TP runs recently… just curious for those who, like me, do max cash min Avios redemptions for Club Europe and have a TP balance of 0, if they see any benefit of Silver / Gold.
I wasn’t planning to get to Silver but had a well-time BA holiday booked last summer which got me most of the way there so it seemed a no-brainer to get the other 40 TPs I needed. Now I don’t want to be without it because it’s so useful to be able to select seats and use lounges regardless of travel class. This extends beyond BA flights – I’ve used it with AA and QR bookings as well, e.g. free checked bag allowance on AA is quite valuable on short-haul within the US or US-Caribbean.
hi all, so both @Angelamc11 and @nectar collector itineraries, are they still allowed with the new T&Cs?
