Apple Pay Support?

Hi. Been a lurker here for a long time but had to create an account to share the this.

So, had a chat with a rep on iMessage regarding an estimated date on Apple Pay support and got this reply:

“I would be more than happy to help you on this, however I am sorry Avios is a master card and master cards is not yet compatible with Apple pay, and once Apple will allow it we will be more than happy offer customer this service.”

Does not give me confidence to be with them on the long run. This is my first ever Barclays product BTW.
