Discuss today's stories:
Good morning. My Avios name and passport ( and all my Amex accounts ) are under my married surname but my current account with HSBC is under my maiden name. Would it advised to apply under my married surname so this would match with my Avios name to ensure transfer of the points? Thanks in advance.
Yes. The name on your Barclays account and BA account need to match.
(Although if they don’t, there is a work around. You can set up a second BA account in your other name, and pool the Avios through a household account. Technically, it is a breach of BA’s T&Cs though. If you don’t provide Barclays with your BAC number, then I think they create a new BA account for you.)
